Los Angeles hookups work best when the first meet is simple: chat on the site, then choose a public landmark such as Griffith Observatory, open until 10pm Tuesday to Sunday. Check Metro’s last train before you commit.

The city says admission costs nothing. It opens at noon Tuesday to Friday and 10am at weekends, closes at 10pm and shuts on Mondays. Parking nearest the building is paid.

A 12-acre civic park Downtown, open daily from 5.30am to 10pm, with public programming, its site says.
Echo Park Lake
Created in 1868, with lotus beds replanted in 2013, says Wikipedia. Check the park’s hours first.
Venice Ocean Front Walk
A 2.5-mile promenade beside the beach with performers and vendors, Wikipedia says. Go by day.

Rail times point to a midnight finish.
Wikipedia gives the B Line’s hours as approximately 4.30am to midnight, every day. Metro’s E Line timetable, in force since 14 December 2025, has the last trains leaving Downtown Santa Monica at 11.56pm and East LA at 12.18am. Its A Line timetable, in force since 7 June 2026, has them leaving Downtown Long Beach at 11.07pm and Pomona North at 11.30pm.
Metro’s schedules page lists an OWL night bus map. Uber says its app can request a ride in Los Angeles anytime, 24/7, and Lyft lists the city too.

The 2am rule
By law, the bar night ends at 2am
State rule: California’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control says alcohol may be sold from 6am to 2am the following day, and it is unlawful to sell it between 2am and 6am.
A city, or a venue’s licence conditions, can make hours shorter. The minimum age to drink is 21, the department says, and local ordinances limit drinking in public places. Adults aged 18 and over can join, so a daytime view works for everyone.

The county tests for STIs, not the city
Los Angeles County’s Department of Public Health says its sexual health clinics, at six locations, charge patients no fees and take limited walk-ins, so arrive early. They test for common STIs, including gonorrhoea, chlamydia, syphilis and HIV.
Its Central Health Center, at 241 N. Figueroa Street, is one of the full-service sites. The county says some locations have changed and that appointments are preferred, so ring its scheduling line on 213-449-7009 first. The STI testing in the USA guide explains how often testing is advised.
