On the Shannon
Limerick Local Sex: Casual Meets Beside the Shannon
A Georgian grid, a medieval island and one bus that runs all night.
Start with the chat, then meet where there are people, such as People’s Park near Colbert Station, and agree your lift home before you go. Transport for Ireland (TFI) shows a single 24-hour service, route 343 to Shannon Airport, so plan a taxi or a train for other destinations.
The layout
Two Limericks in one: Georgian grid, medieval island
Choose your half, then your spot.
Newtown Pery is the Georgian centre. Wikipedia says Edmund Sexton Pery had the engineer Christopher Colles draw its grid plan in 1769, with O’Connell Street, once George’s Street, at the centre.
The historic core sits on King’s Island, where King John’s Castle stands on Nicholas Street. Thomond Park, home of Munster Rugby, is across the river.
The CSO counted 102,287 people in Limerick city and suburbs at the 2022 census, and Wikipedia notes it became Ireland’s first National City of Culture in 2014.

Getting home
One bus runs all night; here is the rest
The all-night bus
TFI lists route 343 as a 24-hour service between Limerick City and Shannon Town and Airport. Bus Éireann says it serves Bunratty on the way.
City buses and trains
Bus Éireann runs routes 301 to 306, 310, 313 and 323, but TFI shows no Friday and Saturday night network. It also lists a late-evening Dublin Heuston train to Limerick and Ennis. Check last departures with the operators.
Taxis
TFI says a licensed taxi has a roof sign, a taximeter and a printer, and the driver has to give you a printed receipt. Complaints go to the National Transport Authority, and emergencies to 999 or 112.

Limerick first meets: the practical bits
Which bus runs all night in Limerick?
Route 343, which Transport for Ireland lists as a 24-hour service between Limerick City and Shannon Town and Airport. TFI shows no Friday and Saturday night network for the city routes, so for other trips check late trains or book a licensed taxi.
Does the Milk Market work for a first meet?
It is covered and public, which suits a first meet. Its own site says it trades on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so pick one of those days and confirm the current hours with the market before you set a time.
Which Limerick clinic tests for STIs?
The public option is the Sexual Health Clinic at University Hospital Limerick, Dooradoyle, which the HSE lists on 061 482 382; ring or email before you go. Prefer to start at home? Residents of the Republic aged 17 and up can order the HSE kit online, which tests for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV and syphilis.
